Ezra was out hunting, wanting to catch something for her alpha. She managed to catch four rabbits, burying each one before hunting another. Carrying them back to the pack, Ezra put three away for the others for later and took the fattest one, searching for Artemis.
Finally finding her, Ezra set the rabbit down in front of Artemis before licking her alpha's chin. I got you something to eat Artemis. I managed to catch three more as well, but I also thought we could talk for a bit.

Prowling the lengths of the borders, the she-wolf found herself unable to truly settle down and allow her thoughts to envelop her. Her fear of the winter months might have been obvious to her pack mates, though she had only spoken of her worries a little with Soul.
Her black tipped muzzle dropped to sniff delicately at a stale scent; a lone wolf who had thought better of trespassing, thankfully. Blinking her green eyes, the she-wolf just lifted her head once more to stare off in to the distance and decipher where the wolf might have disappeared to when a voice echoed to her.
Casting a glance over her shoulder, the female lifted herself dominantly to Ezra's presence, her eyes slightly harsh as she recalled the mishap at the pack hunt when the pale female had misinterpreted her words and rushed the hunt. They softened, however, when she respectfully greeted her, offering her a rabbit. "Thank you, Ezra. Have the others been fed?" As sweet as the gesture was, Artemis did not want her other pack members to go hungry.

Ezra lowered herself down a little lower than usual when she noticed the harsh look in her alpha's eyes. She knew Artemis had been angry that she ended up leading the pack hunt after her alpha had clearly stated that she would be leading the hunt. Ezra had simply become overly excited to impress her alpha and she wasn't really thinking when she rushed in. It was no excuse though and she knew she was in the wrong.
Not yet, I have three more rabbits stored though and I was going to take it to them, but I thought we could talk, at least for a moment? Ezra paused for a moment, allowing time for a response from Artemis before she continued. I wanted to apologize for how I acted during the pack hunt. I rushed into it without really thinking after you said you were leading. I was wrong to do so and I can only hope that you forgive me for acting in such a way. And I can assure you it will never happen again.

Artemis gave a quick lash of her tail, debating what to do with the pale she-wolf before her. Ezra was respectful enough, and the ivory Alphess was not going to punish her member for a first time offense. She only hoped it was a one time offense. "I'm disappointed that you can not follow orders," she spoke gently, letting the female before her know her behavior had been unacceptable. "Had it thrown off the hunt, I would have punished you." There was a thoughtful silence, and the regal female realized she had yet to fully punish Ezra for her excited behavior.
"I had it in mind to make you Lead Hunter. But given I'm uncertain to how you would handle such a task, for now I shall place you as a pack Hunter and from there you can prove to me where you belong." A small smile smoothed to her lips then, and the Alphess took a step forward, gripping the female's muzzle gently in her teeth before releasing; a friendly but dominant gesture. "These rabbits for the pack.. They are an excellent start to proving yourself."

Ezra nodded as Artemis spoke. She was being promoted to hunter, something she hadn't expected to happen during their talk. I understand Artemis. I will prove to you that I can follow orders and I will prove myself. I am sorry that I let you down and disappointed you.
