Wake before the sun [P] Alek

Athena left early in the morning, wanting to surprise her Alpha with a meal before he woke up. She managed to catch a couple rabbits, happily carrying them back to the den. Setting them down, Athena nudged the fattest one closer to Alek and waited for him to wake.

[Twi]

Alek woke up to a rabbit that lie close to his muzzle. "Wha-" He said before he looked up at Athena staring down at him. "Oh, thanks." Alek wagged his tail as he ate and looked up once in a while to look at Athena.

[courtney]

Athena smiled as he woke and ate the rabbit. She quickly ate the other she had caught before laying down beside Alek and licking up the little bit of blood on his muzzle. Did you sleep well Alek?

[Twi]

Alek ear twitched at Athena's licking at his muzzle."Yes, I did." He smiled.
He slightly smelled something, and it seemed to be coming from Athena. It could onl be one thing at this time of year. Heat. And most males only had one thing on their minds at this time. "Athena, could I ask you something?"

[courtney]

Good, I'm glad. Her head tilted to the side at his question, a little confused and wondering what he needed to ask. Of course you can. You're my Alpha, you don't need permission to ask me anything.

[Twi]

"Do you..." He was once again distracted by that smell. "You smell different...." Despite his attempts at thinking about what it could be, another part of his brain was stirring, out of his control. He licked at her shoulder then up her neck again, the smell that hung around her was so enticing and he just couldn't get enough. Another step towards her and he continued to groom her pausing to look away and sneeze before getting back to his work. His head feeling odd and the smell was almost like a fog, dampening everything but instincts for him. But he soon stopped, noticing what he was doing. "I'm sorry, but you smell so good."

[courtney]

Once he stopped, Athena let out a small whine, wanting him to continue. It's ok, you don't have to stop. I know I smell different. I'm in heat. She licked at his neck, moving up by his ear before nipping his neck.

[Twi]

He smiled softly as she nuzzled and groomed him back. "Well it smells...Really good." He said, taking another deep breath in greedily. Alek's head hazily managing the sentence he spoke. Her scent was driving him crazy, not that he understood why. His tail was thudding on a small pile of leaves, sending it flying this way and that.

[courtney]

Should I stop then? I can leave you alone if that's what you want. Athena didn't want to leave though, she wanted him, not that she would admit it at the moment. She met his gaze before nipping at his ear and lowering into a playful bow, her rump in the air as her tail wagged back and forth.

[Twi]

"No! No, it's fine." His mind was making small jerks of thought, like gears that keep getting stuck. Her scent made him lean in again without thinking, hesitantly starting to groom her throat and chest. He knew it was up to her, he'd never fully thought much of kids, but he couldn't grasp the reason at the moment. At this point it seemed like a good idea, a pack, a lovely mate...but the little thought that was just beyond his grasp still tried to wriggle its way into his mind. He really had no clue what to say so he just tried to come out with the first thing that came to his mind "I...like you Athena, alot." He said leaning back a bit to look at her. "You don't have to do it if you don't want to. It's your choice if you want me or not."

[courtney]

Athena moved closer again, nuzzling into his neck. I like you too Alek, and I...I want to. She didn't quite feel love just yet but she did have strong feelings for her Alpha and she had always wanted pups so she saw no reason why they shouldn't. Not if it's what they both wanted. Athena looked up and met his eyes as she spoke again. Do you want to Alek? You're the Alpha, it's your choice.

[Twi]

Alek wagged his tail and buried his muzzle into her fur. "Yes, I want to." Alek let out a soft laugh. Her reaction to his words made his heart swell and hearing her response made it jump as well. This...was really going to happen. They would be pretty much consummating their relationship.. And he couldn't be happier as he gave her cheek one last lick before moving a little closer to her almost shyly...

*Fade In*

Afterwards as they laid next to each other he let out a soft contented sigh while he started to groom Athena once again. His head lifted slightly to look at her with a soft, satisfied smile. For just this moment is was as if nothing else mattered but each other.

Athena smiled and looked up at Alek as they laid beside each other. She leaned in to lick at his cheek, feeling absolutely blissful at the moment. Everything just seemed perfect. She had gained a mate and would more than likely have his pups soon. Athena had gone from having no one to having everything she could have ever wanted. So does this mean I'm your's now? She smiled, using a teasing tone as she spoke.

[Twi]

Alek smiled at his new mate, who would be expecting his pups. "Of course, Queen Athena."

[courtney]

Queen? Athena hadn't realized that by becoming Alek's mate, she would also become the Queen of the pack. She nuzzled into him, cuddling up close as she remembered something. What were you going to ask me earlier Alek?
