It was a little more than obvious that Athena was pregnant, what with her swollen belly and her moodiness. She still had a little longer before the pups would come but her excitement only increased with each passing day. She was quite content with simply spending the day relaxing inside the den but she knew she would need to build a birthing den soon. She would get around to it eventually, right now she just wanted to relax and maybe talk to the others, if they came to the den that is.

"How are you, my dear?" Alek asked. He was getting more concerned as each day passed. After all, Athena was pregnanat with his litter. His first litter. He had no experience with being a father and didn't know how to handle the little bundles of joy.

I'm alright my love. And how are you? Athena nuzzled into his neck, giving his muzzle a quick lick as she did. It wouln't be long now, just another week or so and we will have our first litter. It was clear that she felt a great deal of excitement about the upcoming litter but she was still nervous. It was her first litter though so it was understandable for her to be nervous.
